I chose a walking path in the park thinking no one would be there, but I ran into more people than I expected, which made my heart race. Once again today, dressed in an embarrassing outfit, I began a leisurely walk alone. I’d stop in front of a bench or walk a full circle around the fountain. In places I’d normally just walk right past, I deliberately stop and act casual. My heart skips a beat every time I feel someone’s gaze, but for some reason, that tension is fun, and I can’t stop. Sitting on the grass and pretending to gaze into the distance, I sneak a peek at my outfit. I’ve gotten used to the idea of someone seeing me now.
