No. 278: Exhibitionism in a Parking Lot

I chose a parking lot—a concrete plaza with cars coming and going. Once again today, dressed in an embarrassing outfit, I walk slowly across the parking lines. My heart skips a beat every time the sound of an engine gets closer, but the drivers are too busy looking for parking spots to notice me. That indifference actually feels good, so I try standing on a curb stop or balancing on the white lines. When a car approached in reverse, I got a little nervous, but that was part of the thrill. A place I usually just pass through had turned into my stage today. I made eye contact for a split second with the driver of a car that stopped at the parking lot exit; I hurriedly looked away, but it didn’t feel so bad. Next time, maybe I’ll try a different time of day—a nighttime parking lot. Your “likes” will decide my next time slot. Please watch until the end and savor the feeling of peeking into the gaps of everyday life. #PublicParkingLotStroll #EmbarrassingButICan’tStop
