Back at the riverside again—this time, I arrived a little later than before. Dressed in a different, somewhat embarrassing outfit than last time, I started walking down the same promenade in the opposite direction. The sound of the river flowing has grown familiar to my ears, and I notice that I’m a little more relaxed than I was last time. The number of people passing by is different, and so is the angle of the sunlight. Just those changes make the same place seem like a completely different world. I stopped at the foot of the bridge and leaned against the railing; my reflection on the water’s surface looked calmer than last time. This place is no longer just a stop along the way. The sound of the gravel crunching with every step feels like it’s carving out my own footprints, and I find it endearing. Next time, I’ll cross to the other side and see this river from a new angle. Your support gives me the courage to cross that bridge.
