No. 291: Cycling in the Open During the Day

Cycling during the day—the breeze felt so nice that I found myself pedaling away in a rather revealing outfit. I’d spin around while straddling the saddle or let go of the handlebars to try and balance. Every time a driver in a passing car glanced my way for a split second, my heart would skip a beat, but for some reason, those glances felt good. The wind rustles my clothes, making my skin feel more sensitive than usual. When I stopped at a traffic light, the middle-aged man on the bike next to me glanced my way, but I kept my face calm and looked straight ahead. I’ve gotten used to this side of myself by now. A sense of freedom I can’t experience at home spreads with every pedal stroke. I find myself wanting to try out even more moves and poses that are unique to cycling. If we happen to pass each other, please just let me be.
